The Declaration of Independence

In Congress, July 4, 1776. 

The Unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them to another, and assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness-----That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,-----

      On July 4, 2014, our family went to Greenfield Village for the 22nd Annual Salute to America concert.  The event began at 6:45 P.M. with the 1st Michigan Colonial Fife and Drum Corps.  At 7:30 P.M.  The United States Army Field Band  Concert Band & Soldiers' Chorus took the stage, and they were wonderful.  At 8:30 P.M. the Detroit Symphony Orchestra joined the Army Field Band & Soldiers Chorus.

We walked around the village while waiting for the concert to begin.

                     Mini Monkey snuck in the village and he got caught getting in the pop corn!

The DSO played patriotic music during the fireworks display.

    I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July weekend.  I also pray for our Nation, and our servicemen and women; that God will keep us all in His care.
