Recipe | Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies
I can't believe that September is nearly over. Every year the time seems to pass by faster. The days are becoming shorter with the sun setting earlier each evening. There's a slight chill in the air that is beckoning autumn. This is the beginning of baking season for me. I'm not quite ready for all-things pumpkin-spice. To me, September is apple and pear time, and there's so many ways to prepare them---sweet or savory. When I'm in the mood for something sweet & simple---Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies are an easy treat to make, and I always have the ingredients on hand in my pantry. The dough balls can be frozen and prepared when the craving hits----perhaps, with a cup of tea or coffee in the afternoon.

To freeze cookie dough balls, place on parchment-lined cookie sheet until solid, then bag by the dozen. Add 1 to 2 minutes to baking time when baking from frozen.
