Cheddar Cheese Bread
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 slightly beaten egg
1 cup milk
2 Tablespoons melted butter
Lightly grease 9 x 5 loaf pan
Method:
Preheat oven to 350*F
In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and grated cheese.
In another bowl beat together egg, milk and vegetable oil.
Add the flour cheese mixture to the egg mixture and stir until just moistened.
Pour the batter in to the prepared pan.
Bake for 45--50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on a rack for ten minutes then invert on rack to continue cooling.
