Holiday At Sandy's Cottage | Our Fourth of July

My sister-in-law and friend Sandy invited Erich and I to come stay with her at her cottage near Lake Huron for a 2 day holiday.  Erich was really excited because he loves spending time with his aunt Sandy and  at the lake skipping stones.  On our way up Sandy and her sister Debbie met us at the A&W in Lexington for lunch.  After lunch we went into a few of the quaint shops on the main street in town.

Erich had fun checking out the cars at the General Store.
After we got settled in we went for a walk along the shoreline of Lake Huron.

Time to relax after a walk.
Over Fourth of July weekend Keith and I took Erich and Justin to my long-time friend Kelli's house for a family pic-a-nic.   The food was amazing!

There was plenty of activities for everyone to get involved in; horse shoes to throw, Frisbee, tire swings and bubbles for the little kiddles. I haven't seen Kelli for a few years--- it was so nice to be able to talk to Kelli and her family.  I consider them my family too--- considering I stayed almost every weekend with them when we were in high school.  Keith played Frisbee with Kelli's brother-in-law and his son.  He also enjoyed talking to Kelli's family.
In the evening Justin and Erich caught a firefly.
The boys had fun with the sparklers and smoke bombs.  We stayed until around 10:30 p.m.  Fourth of July the boys worked on the cars and I did things around the house.  There's never a shortage of things to do between the house and the garden.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday weekend.  Goodness gracious it's already the middle of July!  I have more things to write about soon.  Erich started marching band practice this week---so we are back in busy mode.  Sandy and I have a few more venues to check out this summer.  I want to go back to Greenfield Village---- if it ever cools down.
